Swine Lawsonia intracellularis Real-time PCR Kit uses Taqman fluorescent probes to amplify and detect the Intracellular Bacteria (LI) gene in pigs, which can be applied to the nucleic acid detection of Lawsonia porcine in stool, swabs, diseased intestinal tissue, blood and other samples.
Lawsonia intracellularis causes large economic losses in the pig industry worldwide. Pigs suffer from reduced daily weight gain, poor feed conversion ratio and increased mortality. The number of affected animals and herds in Europe remains unknown.
