Basic information
Chlamydophila felis is a common pathogen of cats. It primarily causes a conjunctivitis without respiratory infection. The condition often starts unilaterally but typically becomes bilateral. It results in chemosis and initially a copious serous discharge which becomes mucopurulent with chronicity.
Mycoplasma infection is caused by a type of bacteria that acts as a parasite in the blood, causing anemia and other signs of infection. Antibiotic treatment may be needed to overcome the disease, especially in cats with poor immune performance.
This kit uses fluorescence probe PCR (RT-PCR) method to detect the deserved gene of C. Felis and M. Felis, which is helpful for diagnosis, monitoring and epidemiological investigation of C. Felis and M. Felis.
