What antibiotics do these kits detect?
Our kits detect the major residue families used in dairy — beta-lactams and cephalosporins, tetracyclines, sulfonamides, macrolides, quinolones and aminoglycosides. Aflatoxin M1 kits detect the mycotoxin transferred through the cow into milk.
Are the kits ILVO validated?
Yes — the BT Combo and BTS TriTest kits are validated by ILVO in Belgium, the AFNOR / AOAC reference laboratory for antibiotic residue detection in milk.
How long do results take?
Rapid tests deliver a visual read in 10 minutes. No-incubation kits require no additional wait time; other formats may need 3-5 minutes of incubation depending on the target.
Do I need a lab or reader?
No lab required. Kits are visually read. A NBReader can be used for quantitative results where numeric ppb values are needed, but is optional.
What sensitivity or LOD do the kits achieve?
Sensitivity varies by kit. BT Combo detects to 100 ppb sensitivity. Aflatoxin M1 kits range from 0.05 ppb up to 0.7 ppb LOD variants. Full LOD specs are on each product page.

Which kit for which milk operation
BT Combo is best for on-farm producers, milk collectors and small dairies who need a routine two-antibiotic-class screen. Detection is at the Codex MRL for beta-lactams and comparable limits for tetracyclines. Visual result on-strip in under 10 minutes.
BTS TriTest is best for dairy processors and larger producers who also need to cover sulfonamides in their goods-in checks. Same on-strip visual read, same in-parlour workflow, three antibiotic classes on a single result window.
Aflatoxin M1 (rapid + ELISA) covers mycotoxin residues carried into milk from contaminated feed. Rapid strip for field screening and ELISA plate format for batch laboratory testing.

Do the kits work on non-cow milk (goat, sheep)? Yes. The antibody-based assays do not distinguish species. Validated on cow milk; results equivalent on other ruminant milks.
